The Buddy Bench project was launched by Erika Lynch, teacher from Alanson Elementary School.

This project fosters partnership between local community members, families, and students.

The initiative includes recycling plastic bottle caps to be made into a buddy bench or table.

It is a special place for students to connect to read together and/or share stories, experiences and make new friends.

This was by far one of the most successful Michigan Reading Association council projects we have launched.

  1. I am so impressed with this program! I collected bottle caps for my local city rec center, but they are no longer taking bottle caps. I would like to donate mine and I’m more than willing to mail them to where they need to go. Keep up the good work!
