As we look ahead to spring, MRA is moving its annual conference online during the weekend of March 12 to 14, 2021. One of our featured speakers is Corinne Z. Lyons, a Middle School ELA teacher at Sampson Webber Leadership Academy in Detroit. She is presenting the session, “I am the Darker Brother,” at the MRA conference coming up March 12-14.

A graduate of the prestigious Cass Technical High School, Corinne attended Wayne State University receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies before earning a Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education.
She jokes that Sunday’s are made for God, naps, innovative lesson planning, coffee, and music.
Corinne is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Eta Iota Omega Chapter in Inkster, MI – where she participates in the Ringing Pearls Handbell Choir – and the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated.
