Professional Learning is key to supporting literacy development in a school or community. The Professional Learning Grant supports the development of strategic learning opportunities for area educators. Organizations or groups must justify the choice of topic as well as a mode of learning through the use of local (qualitative or quantitative) data.
Projects supported by the Professional Learning Grant may include:
- A regional professional book study (face to face, distance, or through social media such as Twitter Chats)
- A face to face professional learning opportunity with a featured notable speaker
- The development of an online course not offered through a college, university, or other organization
Professional Learning Grants may range from $50 to $500. Organizations may apply for more than one grant but all applications may not be awarded money. Due to limited funds, some grants may not receive full funding. Applications are open on September 28 and due October 25. Grant proposals will be evaluated using this rubric. All applicants will be notified by November 9.
