The Michigan Reading Association Student Projects Grant supports innovative, engaging projects designed to promote student literacy engagement and development. Supported projects should be open to students from all districts within a region, not just one school or district, and should be beyond the scope of what a local school district might provide for students. Innovation and sustainability will be considered in evaluating. Collaboration with community resources and support is encouraged.

Projects supported through the Student Projects grant may include:

  • Student activities celebrating International Literacy Day
  • Summer Reading Initiatives
  • Young Authors’ Conference
  • Regional Author Visit

Student Projects Grants may range from $50 to $500. Organizations may apply for more than one grant but all applications may not be awarded money.  Due to limited funds, some grants may not receive full funding.  Applications are open on September 28 and due October 25.  Grant proposals will be evaluated using this rubric. All applicants will be notified by November 9.

The application is now closed.
