Great Lakes Great Books AwardThe Great Lakes Great Books Award is voted on by children from a pool of nominees selected by the award committee. The group of Michigan teachers and librarians read broadly across books published in the current year and one year previous for school-aged children to select eight nominees per age group. Outside nominations from the public and publishers are also considered. These nominees are then voted on by children and young adults in their corresponding age group to select a winner. Winners of the current year and nominees for the next year are announced at the Michigan Reading Association’s Annual Conference, held in March. Nominees are chosen for the following age groups: Kindergarten-First Grade, Second Grade-Third Grade, Fourth Grade-Fifth Grade, Sixth Grade-Eighth Grade, Ninth Grade-Twelfth Grade. 2023-24 Educator BallotTeacher Resources Past Winners |
